This well grown grey colt, born 23rd October 2012, is from the family of Encosta De Lago and Flying Spur. Hinchinbrook has his first yearlings this year and already has them in the stables of Gai Waterhouse, Chris Waller, Gerald Ryan and Peter Moody. Hinchinbrook is a 3/4 brother to Snitzel who has already made a big name for himself as a stallion.

This filly is the same colour and markings as Miracles of Life and Karuta Queen. She is a strong early type. The filly is a full sister to Group performer Desert Fox, who ran second as a 2yo in a Group 3 race. Desert Fox has won 3 races and is trained by Michael Freedman. The filly has a 2yo full brother with David Payne. She is closely related to the Blue Diamond Preview winner last week (23rd January 2014), Mohave who is trained by Peter Snowden. The farm has Mohave's grandam Desert End, here also. Desert End is a half sister to Sandy Desert. It is worth noting that this is the same family as Snitzel and Hinchinbrook, but also the family of champion sire of sires Valid Appeal. Sandy Desert is in foal to Not A Single Doubt again this year.

This filly is the earliest looking type that the family has left, so she could make a late 2yo, but it could be said that the family is not known for early horses. Stratance is in foal to Hinchinbrook this year and has a Husson filly foal at foot.
